How can we help?.

Search our help center or browse topics below.

Click the 'Write' button in the header or visit the login page. Sign in with your Google account — your account will be created automatically on first sign-in. After that, you'll go through onboarding: set up your profile, choose topics you're interested in, and agree to the community guidelines.

During onboarding, you can add a profile photo and bio. After onboarding, go to your Profile page and click 'Edit Profile' to update your name, bio, and photo. Photos must be JPG or PNG, max 5MB.

Use the header to access Home, Rays (feed), and Topics. The search bar lets you search posts by title. Click your avatar for the dropdown menu with Write, Profile, Settings, and Sign Out options.

Visit any author's profile and click the 'Follow' button. You can also follow suggested authors from the 'Who to Follow' section in the right sidebar on the Rays page.

Browse the Rays page for all published posts. Use the search bar in the header to search by title. Check the right sidebar for trending posts and recommended topics. Browse by topic on the Topics page.

The 'Your Reading' section in the right sidebar shows how many posts you've read in the last 30 days. The 'Trending' section shows the most popular posts ranked by reactions and views.

Click 'Write' from the left sidebar on the Rays page or from your avatar dropdown menu. You can start from a blank editor or choose from templates (Travel Guide, Travel Story, Tech Deep Dive, Tool Review, Tutorial, AI Explainer, Cultural Essay, Design Case Study, Lifestyle Post, Opinion Piece).

The editor supports: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, headings (H1-H3), bullet and numbered lists, task lists (checkboxes), blockquotes, code blocks, inline code, tables, links, text color, text highlight, superscript, subscript, text alignment, horizontal rules, and YouTube embeds.

Click the image icon in the toolbar, drag and drop into the editor, or paste from clipboard. We support JPG, PNG, and GIF formats up to 5MB. GIFs keep their animation. You can resize images by dragging the handle on the right edge, or toggle between full-width and half-width using the expand/shrink button.

Click the 'Add cover image' area above your title. Recommended size is 1600 x 840px, max 5MB (JPG or PNG only). You can replace or remove it anytime using the overlay buttons that appear on hover.

Click the link/media icon in the toolbar and paste a YouTube URL. The video will be embedded with a responsive player that you can resize.

Your content is saved automatically as you type. The bottom bar shows 'Saving...' while saving and 'Saved' when complete. For published posts, edits are saved as draft revisions so your live post isn't affected until you publish changes.

Title: 100 characters. Description: 200 characters. Content: 6,000 words maximum. The bottom bar shows your current character and word count. The Publish/Save button is disabled if you exceed the word limit.

When you click Submit/Publish, a dialog appears where you can select a topic (required) and add tags. Type a tag and press Enter to add it.

Drafts are only visible to you and appear in your Profile with a 'Draft' badge. Published posts are visible to everyone. You can switch between the two from your Profile post list.

From your Profile, click the edit icon on any post. Changes are saved as draft revisions. Click 'Publish Changes' to make them live, or 'Discard Changes' to revert. The bottom bar follows you while scrolling with all actions.

Each post gets a unique URL based on its title plus a unique identifier (e.g., /rays/my-post-title-abc123). If you change the title, the URL updates automatically.

Yes! Press Ctrl+/ (or Cmd+/ on Mac) while in the editor to open the keyboard shortcuts guide. You can also click the keyboard icon in the bottom bar. Common shortcuts: Ctrl+B (bold), Ctrl+I (italic), Shift+Enter (new line without paragraph break).

Scroll to the Comments section at the bottom of any post. Type your comment and click 'Post Comment' or press Ctrl+Enter. You need to be signed in to comment.

Click 'Reply' on any comment to start a threaded conversation. Replies are nested under the parent comment. Deep threads are flattened after a certain depth with a 'replied to' indicator that you can click to scroll to the parent.

For posts, click the heart icon below the content to react. For comments, click the emoji picker (smiley face) next to each comment to choose from all available emojis including like, love, fire, insightful, on point, thanks, and more.

Yes, click 'Edit' on your own comment. The comment text becomes editable in-place. Click 'Save' to confirm or 'Cancel' to discard. Edited comments show an '(edited)' label.

Click 'Delete' on your comment, then 'Confirm'. If your comment has replies, it becomes '[deleted]' to preserve the thread structure. If it's a standalone comment with no replies, it's removed completely. When all comments in a thread are deleted, the entire thread is cleaned up from the database.

Go to your Profile page and click 'Edit Profile'. You can update your first name, last name, middle name, suffix, bio (200 characters max), and profile photo.

Click your current photo in the Edit Profile dialog and select a new image. Supported formats: JPG and PNG, max 5MB. The image is compressed automatically.

Go to Settings > Support Links. Click 'Add link', select a platform from the dropdown (Ko-fi, PayPal, Buy Me a Coffee, Patreon) or choose 'Other' for a custom platform. Enter the URL. These appear as icons on your public profile.

Go to Settings > Social Links. Click 'Add link', select a platform (YouTube, Twitter/X, GitHub, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, LinkedIn) or choose 'Other'. Enter the URL. These appear as icons on your public profile.

Published: total posts you've published. Views: total times your posts have been viewed. Readers: unique people who read your posts. Followers: people following you. Following: people you follow. Drafts: unpublished posts and posts with pending changes.

Go to Settings and scroll to 'Delete Account'. Click 'Delete my account' and confirm. Your account will be scheduled for deletion with a 30-day grace period. During this time, you can cancel from Settings. After 30 days, your data is permanently removed: posts soft-deleted, comments and reactions anonymized, follows/settings/interests/uploaded files removed.

Click the three-dot menu (•••) on any post card in the feed, or at the top of a post detail page next to the date. Select 'Report Read' and fill out the report form with a reason.

Reports are stored for review with a snapshot of the reported content. You can only have one pending report per content. Our team reviews reports and may take action such as removing content or suspending accounts.

When your account is suspended, the reason is shown on your next login attempt. You can submit an Account Appeal from the login page, the Help Center, or the footer link. Appeals are reviewed by our team. You do not need to be logged in to submit an appeal.
